Faves of January - Part 1 (Shower Goodies)

Hi everyone. I would like to take a moment to show the details regarding some of my favorite items for January. If you watched the video, you know I decided to break it up into 2-3 videos since I didn't do a December video or favorites of 2011. I am just feeling so much better now and I hope you don't mind seeing me more. If my memory serves me correctly, the items I chose to discuss in my video were the following:

Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser

Since I purchased mine the packaging has changed. That must be why it was on sale. I was just looking at their website and they have a few items I would like to try. Salicylic acid acne treatment. Invigorates and cools as it removes over 99% of dirt and oil that can cause blemishes. I personally loves that it has a pump and I can put it directly on the scrublet that I use from the Loreal 360 cleanser I was using. I still enjoy those, but really feel as though the Biore is helping really get into my pores and my face does feel very clean afterward.

Collective Well Being Body Scrub - it doesn't appear that they have this on their website at the time being, but I also love their Hot Pore Cleanser for the face. It opens the pores to dig out the grime we put in there each day. Just be sure to clean your face with a toner or use my favorite right now, Witch Hazel on a cotton ball or cleansing pad.

I also enjoy any of the acne toners that copy the brand names unless the brand names are on sale and I can buy the drugstore brand for the same price. I have tried SO SO many things from Collective Well Being skin care line for body and face and they have NEVER let me down. Remember when I told you how well the Acne Fighting Kit works.

Microdermabrasion/Rapidlash - NOTE: If you purchase the sale Rapidlash for $39.95 you will get an eye treatment. If you purchase the Rapidlash for $34.95 you will get the Microdermabrasion. I just found out!!!! Great deal!!!

I have been bragging on this product for two years now and it is just amazing. There is a link here on my blog if you just want to hear a little more about it or if you would like to purchase. I know it takes Paypal also. It will last a long while. The rapidlash allows me 2-3 months with one tube. I use it every 2-3 nights. I no longer use it on the lower lashes, because it had become impossible to use mascara as they had grown so long.

Shielo Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner - I have been using Cibu products since May of 2009 and rarely use another product unless I am trying it to see if I would like to recommend it to someone else. I finally found a brand that I am so happy with and protects my color. Sometimes hair shampoo and conditioner can cost a little more, but I am so willing to take care of my color and do what ever it takes not to make my hair feel like straw. I have had that protection with Cibu and now I am truly enjoying Shielo products. It has not stripped my hair and it feels soft without weighing my hair down after rinsing.

Also, I LOVE using this conditioner as a shaving product. It makes my legs so smooth and I won't nick myself with conditioner and my favorite razor,

MISSING YOU!!! After my illness, I had just lot my spunk and my desire to do reviews and videos. My camera kept making the videos yellow, so my new camera has inspired me to keep going. I am still taking pictures with the other camera, but my latest videos was with the new camera. Wow. I had no idea how every little spot is shown on with HD. I used to upload with HD, but it was never so detailed. Eeeek:)

Anyway, I want to make this short and quick as the video says it all. However, I want to come up with a rating system for me to use on my blog so I can do it in quick form and gives you all the info without the long paragraph. The video is below if you haven't seen it on my channel.

I love these polishes. Sephora has many different finishes and colors. The ones below are all Satin, but when I use my top coats they are shiny:)

Pros:
-Vibrant Colors
-Long Wear Colors
-Satin Wear can be glossy if you use a topcoat
-Great for those that collect nail polishes and want to bring something new to the collection.
-Love the "rubbery" feel that reminds me of Nars packaging (however, no messy sticking to product)
-Great selection of neutrals, brights, taupes, etc. especially for a company that was just started within the UK in 2008. We are so fortunate to have them on the Sephora site and stores.
-Very reasonable drying time. I haven't even used my "fast dry" top coats yet.

I definitely want to go to Sephora and grab a couple more. They have matte, satin, glossy, metallic, etc. Retail value $14 each

Cons:
-Plastic like smell for about 24 hours if top coat is not used. I only noticed it when I put my palm on my chin to rest my hand. No biggie at all!
-Not available in stores within the United States other than Sephora, but I am used to having any excuse to visit Sephora:)

I love that Fall is here because I love the porcelain face look with warm beautiful colors on the eyes...plum, cranberry, copper, warm golds, navy, matte gray and more! I look so so forward to all of the amazing fall looks that I have in my mind...from classic, timeless looks to those that are a bit dramatic but are super fun to create. I want to start using more of my artistic skills this fall. I hope everyone will enjoy them and the tips I have picked up along the way. I learn something each and every day and am always open to learn from others. If you have a favorite makeup tip, feel free to leave it in the comments.

This is what I adore for work during the fall. Some may think it is too dark, but I love how refined this looks:) I love the Filigree and cannot wait to use it for a smokey eye.

Sigma Palette Giveaway and Sigma Bare Palette Review

Palette Cons:

Palette is made of a heavy, cardboard type material. This is not a negative option as it is heavy and very nicely made. However, it seems to collect the eyeshadow within the brush compartment and around the eyeshadows. I have shown pictures of where it was dusted on the palette and how it worked when I tried to wipe it off with the makeup wipe and then a Lysol wipe hoping for better results.

After Lysol Wipe Around Edges (not perfect, but it is a little hard to remove all of the eyeshadow...my only true con about the packaging)

I expected Act and Command to have a deeper pigmentation. However, using a mixing medium really helps bring out that pigmentation. Another option that really worked well was a nice bronzey base such as a paint pot, NYX jumbo stick, Mary Kay Cream Eyeshadow in the bronze shade, Michael Todd Cream Eyeshadows and many more options.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sigma Brushes. However, I am not a huge fan of double ended brushes since I store them in Sephora inspired containers. Even if I didn't use anything to hold them in the brush container, I still wouldn't like the idea of my brush being distorted on the other end. I have other brushes like this and I have to make a decision sometimes as to which end I like better if they don't accompany a palette. So, this great to keep in the palette for travel.

Matte colors, Top Row

Four darkest shades, all matte except the black to the left w/ shimmer (Shine)

Jennifer Lopez Loreal Million Lashes Inspired Look Using Sigma Bare Palette

Hi everyone. It is so nice to actually make videos again. I missed it very much so I have uploaded a "When You Need a Cut But Need to Get Volume" video on my original channel and a "Jennifer Lopez Loreal Million Lashes Commercial Video" using the Sigma Bare Palette. I will be having a contest to give away the Sigma Bare Palette by the end of the week.

Just a note: I haven't heard a word from my Tan Towel winner and as much as I want to write to the person the idea is that the winners are generally those that keep up with the videos and/or blog entries. So, a couple more days and I am drawing a new name. The winner is listed in my last blog entry and my Incoco Nail Strips video.

This look was just "inspired" and not meant to be exactly like her eyes or I would have stayed much lower on the upper crease. It is really more because they are all mattes and the colors are very close. I hope you will enjoy it. Please forgive me as the tripod was far too high as I had dusted it and stretched the legs. Hi everyone. I have missed you all SO very much. You have no idea. I started with a raw tomato food allergy with some splotches and then got a spider bite within two days of each other. The two of them didn't mix well and I became very sick. I was incredibly swollen in the face, neck, arms, legs, ankles...just everywhere. My meds didn't mix well so I got very sick and sleep. The past ten days it has been hard to just type. Therefore, I haven't replied to your comments. I cannot believe what a spider bite and a food allergy can do. I only took a couple of bites of the tomato (saying no tomato please means nothing apparently as there were a few in the mix of the salad that I didn't see). Anyway, it has been really rough and I have truly missed you guys. The pics all the way down are the pics after healing, so you can imagine what they looked like when they were SICK!!! I could have dealt with it better if I didn't feel so badly also.

Anyway, it is good to be on my way back. My redness is ALMOST gone and I should be able to do a tutorial on Saturday night on my new channel. I would love for you to subscribe. I just go the new Sigma Bare Palette and the New Sleek Nude Collection as well as utilizing the amazing Mary Kay products I have been incorporating. I have gotten amazing feedback from the Mary Kay as the product has "come a long way baby."

Anyway, this is about Incoco and I believe my video says it all. The video is about twenty minutes long but I hope you will watch the entire video to get all of the details. The pros are endless and the only con is that I wish the style name would be on the packaging. I am hoping one day I can show you how to do the french manicure as you can make it very natural with just a small amount of white or make it dramatic. It looks gorgeous. I mentioned that others went together for my birthday and purchased colors for me and I loved them. I think the designs are great for video. I had actually asked for the French Manicure for my bday, but it was super sweet to get the colors. I truly appreciated them.

Anyway, I hope the video was helpful and you enjoy the pics above that I I used and tweeted quite a bit, You probably saw a couple that I used in other videos as many were asking what I was wearing in videos. It was a little weird trying to figure out how to get my hands in the camera, but the kitchen counter worked out perfectly and I will continue to do that for future nail vids. It is super easy and has good natural light.

Now, if you want to see my "healed" spider bite and reaction from the tomato stay tuned for the really ugly pics below. These were just a few days ago and considered "healed" but no makeup allowed until Saturday. It isn't contagious but allergic to the spider and of course, the tomato. SO UGLY...TOMATO ALLERGY

The doctor said if we want to cut down on spider bites our trees have to be cut back and with the number of spider bites we have gotten over the past three years, it is now necessary. A week ago Gary told me not to come outside so I wouldn't freak out. He found a spider in a body of water in our bird bath that spanned 5 1/2 inches from top to bottom and 6" from left to right. It was really gross. The body was really fat and it had markings on it. I need to look up spiders on google, but the images aren't something I enjoy as I have a huge fear of spiders anyway. I walk our dog alot and take him outside a lot during the day. He likes to pretend as though he has "treed" the cat...lol. So, I am standing under the tree alot and sometimes feel the spider web I am walking through, but had no idea that even the marks on my neck were minor spider bites that the doctor found. Ugh. I won't be going to take him to piddle near that try anymore. Yick...lol. I cannot do spiders. They can be the size of a stud earring or huge...they are the same to me, a spider. LOL.

Healed Spider Bite, Swelling Down and No Ring Around It...YAY:))) You can still see where the infection had to be removed. Yeah, gross I know. It was a huge knot to start and really hard. YICKY:) It is still red, but I have to "see" you guys!!!!

Now, after seeing the ick, you deserve to get yourself some pretty nail polish strips with color, design, etc. Whatever your taste, they have it and I totally hope you enjoy them as much as I have. They are amazing in my eyes. Let me know if you purchase them or find them in any Walgreens as they are not in the Walgreens in the four towns surrounding me in Virginia. I like to online shop anyway. They have a great website. Check out the how to section, the frequently asked questions, etc. as it is all informative. They have a tutorial video also. ENJOY!!! Eye of the Day and Video Tutorial Using Wet N Wild Lust Palette and Mary Kay Products

Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a great first week of August. Summer is flying by, but I am actually looking forward to the start of an early fall. 115 degree days aren't my favorite and I want to see green grass again instead of crunchy brown grass.

I was asked to create a look to put on my new channel using each color in the Wet N Wild 6 pan eyeshadow palette. I didn't know if I would be able to use them all as I generally don't use so many colors having small eyes. I know it is easy to get six colors incorporated with larger eyes, but little guys make it tough. However, I did come up with something. The colors are pretty dark, so I found ways to tone them down in some points in the video. Thanks for visiting everyone. This is a mini post to feature the pictures of the 88 pan Coastal Scents Mirage Palette used in my latest video called "How I Make My Small Hooded Eyes Appear Larger and Lifted." This look was also a request, while I chose some of my favorite colors from the palette. I hope you enjoy the look and it helps anyone out there with this issue. Anyone can where the look, it just helps those of us with small, hooded eyes. Normally hooded eyes mean that my beautiful lid color disappears when I open my eyes, so I generally bring that lid color above the crease a bit. I hope you enjoy the pictures and please excuse my messy little "x's" showng the colors I used in the mirage palette. More to come..

Hi everyone. I hope you will all support my efforts in starting a new channel that will enable me to answer all requests. I will still have my original channel at http://www.youtube.com/macface2adore and will continue doing hauls, reviews, do it yourself, how to, beauty tips and more videos. It will remain the same and even have tutorials that are too long to fit on the new channel that will feature 10 minute and under tutorials. Homemade Mixing Medium, How a Colored Base Helps & Beautiful Minerals from The Body Needs

Hi everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the mixing medium video. As mentioned, I will sometimes use my MAC Fix + when in a jiffy, but a nice glycerin mixing medium is my favorite for eye shadows both pressed and loose. It allows me to have the time to work with the shadow such as creating shape and the clean up is great. It is easy to make and only lasts about 2-3 weeks, so I only make a tiny bit at a time. Now, the type you purchase last longer, so if you purchase the mixing medium from MAC, TheBodyNeeds2 or anywhere else it lasts much longer. This is just for the homemade version that I enjoy. Everything is mentioned in the video.

However, I do think I may purchase a small bottle of mixing medium when I am doing weddings so I don't need to keep changing the other in my kit. If you are using this recipe for home, it is perfect. $4.99 for pure glycerin at the drugstore and some bottled or purified water is the perfect match. I go by the method of using three parts of water to one part glycerin. After a while, I just learn by looking at my recipe (just like the cook of the family...not me) may do with a pinch of salt or a sprinkle of paprika.

As mentioned in the video, I have been using The Body Needs for all of my MAC samples long before I started making videos over two years ago and now she has her own line of minerals that I think have a much nicer texture than any of my pigments. That is to be expected considering MAC are not minerals and her minerals are just so fine and easy to apply. No chunky pigments...you guys know what I mean. Can I say KITCHMAS??? That is such a pretty pink MAC pigment, but I hated how chunky it was. They were all so different so I learned samples were my friend and that is where http://www.thebodyneeds2.com/ came in for me and now they have so many MAC samples. Everything from fluidlines, cream blushes, pigments, powders and much more.

However, I suggest going to her mineral line that sell the same types of things and many are so dupable. I love dupes and many of the colors will say...If you like_____from MAC then you will like _____. There are some really personal issues where I dug deep into my childhood and into my adult years to show where I receive my inspiration, so I hope everyone will appreciate my vulnerable side and the personal information I have never discussed on my channel! I have had a few hard years after my husbands stroke and all of the tragedy that comes with the breadwinner of the home fighting for his life. St Tropez Wash Off Review Video and Pictures of my Sister as Promised

Hi everyone. I hope you enjoyed the video. There is no secret as to the quality of St. Tropez according to the reviews based that are on blogs other YouTube reviews and if you just google asking for "St Tropez Self Tan Reviews" and I find that the majority are positive and many won't use another line since using St. Tropez. I would say St. Tropez is comparable to dear old grandaddy and likes to spoil you:). I will never forget my bottle of St Tropez Mousse two years ago when a family member discovered she was allergic to all self tanner. She gave me that mousse and I adored it.

After running out, I spent so much money in drugstores buying one after another of useless products that had horrible odors, streaky, ruined by clothing and worst of all they made me orange I thought at least the Neutrogena would work . I would have spent half of the money if I had just purchased the St. Tropez Mousse. It was right about the time Gary had his first stroke and somehow I could justify picking up one drugstore product at a time, as it didn't seem like so much at once and CVS Bucks would make my purchase even less! Yet, I would have wasted my precious CVS bucks when I could have used them for something else I was lemming for in the drugstore.

In my humble opinion, I am here to tell you to just go for it! For those that can't swing $32 for a self tanner, just put it aside for a couple of weeks and go for it. I wouldn't lead you in the wrong direction. If you prefer a Wash Off version great, if not they have a line called Red Carpet Ready for an instant tan and everything needed to prep. One of my favorite ladies, Lisa (Lisasz09) has talked about her St. Tropez in the past and have we have had conversations about it last year and we both agree that the mousse is dreamy. I also love that they offer a separate product for the face as many lines do not. I would always experience blackheads as I don't think a body self tanner is always good for the face. Check out the search engine for St. Tropez reviews on YouTube if you enjoy Youtube videos. I forgot to mention, you can purchase the lotions or mousse individually. . Now, which haircut should I get. They are very similar, but yet different. I am going shorter as my hair grows like a weed! Basically, my hair already looks short, but it is full so getting it thinned out will help greatly.

Both are pictures of my favorite Pussycat Doll, Kimberly Wyatt, but the two pictures are quite different. The first is kind of an allover messy look with a somewhat even view on the sides, while the second is much more sleek, messy and short. I am totally leaning toward picture number two, but she is so cute in that first picture. I am also coloring it super blonde in a few days if that helps. Thanks for giving your input!

Weekend Eyes by Palladio

Hey guys. I thought I would show you my "weekend" eyes that I did for Saturday and Sunday using the Palladio quads that I introduced a couple of weeks ago. One being the Copper N Chic and the other being Green to Go. I apologize in advance for some of the pictures being blurry. When I took them they looked SO clear and then I upload them to see some blur...my apologies. So, here you go...Hope you like. I cannot wait to do some smokey eyes on camera with these quads and I am LOVING the precision eyeliners and lipliners. Finger Paint Nail Polish from Sally Beauty in Blank Canvas

Hi everyone. I thought I would just post some pictures as I think they came out a little better than the way it looked on video. I really like the sheen from the Giella Eye M Glam on the cheeks and the Sienna Highlighter from the top portion of the mineral mix. I had to have an excuse to use the Wet N Wild Nutty eyeshadow and MAC Nylon eyeshadow. Shimmer all the way for this way. It was really pretty in the club when Paris and her boyfriend went out to the club on her show "The World According To Paris."

As I mentioned, I don't always agree with the celebrities I use as inspiration for my makeup ideas, but I do love some of the ideas they came up with or probably their makeup artist. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I went ahead and put pics of my nails up since I generally get requests to do that also. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I have had quite a bit of fun with the products shown in the video. Yes, they can be used for 80's look, but as shown in my video you can use them for bright looks or add a pop of color to your neutral look. I definitely consider their lipstick quality to be in my top five regarding wear, color payoff, not settling into lines, not bleeding...great quality. I also really love their mascara as I have mentioned before as well as their setting powder/pressed foundation. The packaging is amazing and I just have to give it to this company, MANIC PANIC. I did a video using another one of their collections back in the fall...I was so amazed at the positive feedback, so I am happy to be doing another video! There will actually be two videos: the one I did tonight to introduce the product and another one using their products to create a tutorial based upon the picture chosen for the giveaway. Palladio Haul with Swatches

Hi everyone. As promised from my YouTube haul, the swatches from Palladio are below. I also showed my Cliche Swatches and Wet N Wild products that are in the posts below this one. I hope they are helpful and I am learning that it is not necessary to pay an arm and a leg all of the time to get really nice products. I was either blind a few years ago or we have come a long way baby in the drugstores and beauty supply stores because I am so impressed. I can tell if an eyeshadow if chalky and doesn't blend well as you all can, but these are really very nice quality. I hope you all enjoy the products as much as I do. I was very excited about the new quads and precision eyeliners. I am such an eyeliner lover! They are exteremly affordable. They can be purchased at Sally Beauty Supply Stores or at http://www.sallybeauty.com/.

In the post, I made the felt tip liner swatches a little bit thick, but they can be as thin or as thick as you prefer depending how you hold the product. Just a little info. I swatched the MAC one on my hand then swatched the Palladio and did a little rub about twenty minutes later...the MAC started to flake off. The Palladio did not move. When I used a makeup wipe to remove them, I had a much harder time removing the Palladio, but it wasn't to the point where you would be hurting your eye. I feel more comfortable wearing the felt tip liner from Palladio for long periods of time. I don't hate the MAC one, but I think I can appreciate the quality of the Palladio a bit more considering it is less expensive and lasts longer. I also get a smoother line. You get my point...I have taken enough of your time:) If any of you have tried them both and have an opinion, please let me know.

Mini Wet N Wild Haul

Hi everyone. Great to talk to you again through blog. I am home very late again this evening so it seems I am only able to blog a bit this week, but I have already put everything out for the video tomorrow. My sincere hope is that my video will be recorded by noon, edited and up by evening.My sister has been hospitalized with bleeding ulcers and has been awaiting possible surgery tomorrow. She was allowed to come home while she is waiting to hear from the doctor. It is just crazy that she needs the surgery, but the delay is all about insurance coverage. It is very frustrating for the family to see her in such pain and the insurance is causing delays when this could eventually be life threatening. I know she would want me to keep blogging and vlogging as cosmetics make her happy as well. She has a precious brand new baby and just had a C-section a few weeks ago. Now, a major surgery and I am just keeping positive thoughts. Hugs Bethany!

So, I went to Walgreens about three days ago and picked up a few items. I was desperately looking for the new Wet N Wild products. I could not find anything in my local Walgreens or Rite-Aid. *wimper* I really love their products and am very impressed by the quality. It is not just by chance that I liked the quality of the last polishes I bought as I have tried each of the below polishes and I really only needed one coat. I did a quick second coat for all of the colors, but could have gotten away with the 1st coat. LOVE THEM! Get this...they were all on sale for 69 cents. The eyeshadows were at the regular cost of $1.99. I love to find the BOGO deals, but even at the regular prices, the eyeshadows are just wonderfully priced and great quality.

I can remember when my grandmother would have Wet N Wild polishes in her collection when I was a child. Do you remember the days when you either got Wet N Wild or Revlon in the drugstore when it came to nail polishes? At least that is how it was in my local drug stores...very few choices and she preferred Wet N Wild over Revlon. She enjoyed the coverage and she always had bright corals, reds and pinks. Oh, how I miss her. She reminded me so much of Marilyn Monroe and how Marilyn would have aged, but we lost her to breast cancer several years ago. She was gorgeous! I would guarantee that she would have been so proud of my recent polish choices. They are amazing with only one coat needed. The brush doesn't fray and I only put a second coat on because it seemed like it was what I am supposed to do, but I could have gotten away with just one beautiful bright coat.

Let's start with the shadows. I have been looking for a replacement to my Blanc Type that was discontinued by MAC. I know it was on the death list and I do believe it is gone now. Either way, the Wet N Wild dupe I have found is even less expensive after my pro discount. I used Blanc Type probably five days a week and am just in love with this Brulee single, which is really close to the matte vanilla color in the Wet N Wild Vanity Palette. I wanted a back up so I got two alone with the gorgeous Nutty. I love this color too! I wore them today, just the two colors with a great eyeliner and it was fine. I went natural today and it was perfect! I will do a look and put them on another blog entry!

Top: Lavender Creme (it is a nice bright opaque milky pink)

Middle: Red Rouge; won a Cosmo award and is the only blue red that has only required one coat!

Bottom: Lavender Pearescent (it is not lavender, but a gorgeous bright chrome like pink)

So, for these items I paid the following...let's see, 3 nail polishes at 69 cents each and and 3 singles at 1.99 each (one back up on Brulee). I only spent $8.04 (less VA sales tax). AMAZING! ALSO I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE to post the pictures of the palettes I have. I am just so disappointed in my drugstores as I wanted to buy a couple that I don't have...they were both broken/cracked on the shelf. I also wanted the new promos. They had no promotional Wet N Wild in either stores, which I find to be crazy as they are just swamped with other promotional displays. I call them every other day as it takes me about 25-30 minutes just to get from our small town to the drugstore and I never get news of the promotional displays. I desperately want to find them so I can share them with you. I know there are a lot of other ladies sharing, but I would also love to have this opportunity. If you haven't picked up any of the polishes or shadows, just jump for it...you won't regret it!

Cliche Cosmetics Haul with Swatches

Hi everyone. It is good to be back after several days. Please keep my sister in your thoughts as she has been in the hospital.. She has suffered with these horribly painful bleeding ulcers for probably about two years. Now, she just had a newborn and misses being with her little one as he is just a bit over a month old. He is absolutely adorable and reminds me so much of mine when he was born a long time ago...whew, the years fly by. Anyway, little Maximus needs his Mommy to come home soon. Bethany, GET WELL SOON!

I thought I would show you a few of the items I have picked up over the past few days and have received to show you guys. I have more posts that feature Palladio and Wet N Wild (among others)later this week. For those of you that have been watching my videos for quite some time remember me raving about this amazing brush cleanser and eye primer from Cliche Cosmetics about a year ago. I don't see the brush cleanser on the site right now. However, the primer is still being sold, but it is no longer in the pan, which is great. It is now in a pot with a top to ensure that it doesn't dry out, but a little goes a long way as I am still have some of mine left. I use my MAC 217 or Sigma equivalent to do so. Any fluffy brush will work fine or if all else fails, a clean finger from lid to brow is excellent:) This is one of the primers that totally reminded me of Bare Study Paint Pot by M AC but much better quality. I really like the consistency. Anyway, my new haul is showing the palette I have received. I chose some lighter colors as I am loving light colors during the day in the summer, especially using a wet brush to give a beautiful sheen. Cliche also has a program called Beauty by the Month Club and I will include that information. You can also click on the purple link above to read about it directly from the site.

There are so many different types of palettes you can fill depending upon your needs and if you are anything like me you drool over palettes. I just love to fill my own and you definitely have that option with the beauty of the month program. Click on the purple link to see exact details and I will be speaking about it in my YouTube video in detail tonight or tomorrow as well. This post is to provide you with a way to get the information and to show you swatches of what I was drawn to based upon my needs for summer. I am loving the light sheen on the lid during the day so I chose a few of those types of shades, a great blender shade and everyone loves a matte black. Take a peek at the swatches!

Something that I always love is that the employees and owners are extremely nice and care about their customers. I have never received anything less and absolutely love to speak with Jessica and the team. I know they have received a lot of press, but I know they were also in one of my favorite magazines in the past few months...Lucky magazine. Take a look around the site and I have learned so much...I hope to review more for you in the future.

Cliche Swatches and Pics:

From left to right: Dash is a matte black (I could not tell the difference between MAC Carbon if someone was to trick me, Bubbly is nicely named as it has an amazing Champagne Sheen, Peachy needs no explanation with that vibrant, yet subtle peach glow, Goddess is such a beautiful sage sheen (I wish that green would have picked up better in the pic, but it is there:). Finally, on the right there is the matte color Sand that you cannot see very well. This is exactly what I was looking for because my Omega Eyeshadow from MAC is missing and this is such an awesome dupe for that color and is a great skin tone match for me. This color blends right in so you can create that perfectly blended eye without disturbing all of your "key" colors. I can imagine it working well for a blender color for lighter or darker skin tones as well. It also makes a great eyebrow color for light to medium eyebrows. Keep in mind that these palettes are magnetic and you arrange them as you please if you so choose. I hope this has been helpful. If you have any questions, please let me know.

A little tip: pick a corner of your shadows to use with mixing medium so the remainder is left alone. Also, the Dash (matte black) is a shadow that works great as a shadow to use with a mixing medium if you don't have any cake liners and would like to try that look...I will be doing a video or blog entry on my homemade mixing medium soon. For the time being, try Fix + from MAC, Cliche sells a liner mixing medium, Visine or water if that is all you have. I will make a vid soon showing you how I do it, but there are also a bunch of others out there that are great as well.

Face of the Day and Nail Art

Below you are viewing my first and amateur experience with actual beads that are created for your nails. They come in strips and are these cool beads that were provided to me by a website called Wow So Cool and I think they are awesome. I kept them so when I wear them again I will be able to get a better fit. You get a zebra print and another colorful print. I also have a pack of beaded pink and black butterflies that I am so excited to use. I have had these for a while, but they got lost in my storage. The polish I am so excited about using as it is a great summer color. China Glaze Jamaican Out. It is not a cream color, but has a tiny bitter of shimmer, not glitter. One of my summer favorites. I have provided the website links where you see the words in blue.
I find it amazing that those are truly little bitty beads. What a work of art and if you click on the link or go to http:///www.wowsocool.com and check out how they do the entire fingers with beads it is amazing.

Hi everyone. Just a few things I wanted to let you know along with a face of the day. I finally was able to create a facebook page, but with the new facebook rules, I couldn't do a regular page unless I release my real name to the public so I had to make it a page with the "Like" Button, otherwise Facebook kept telling me I had to provide a name public. I know that I can trust my followers, but with it being out there for the world to see I cannot risk that. However, it will still serve the same purpose.

Facebook Page: I would love for everyone to "Like" my page and come their a few times a week with your faces of the day, beauty tips, news that you have, pics of your hauls, whatever you have that is beauty related that you want to share. I am also kicking off a Facebook Giveaway next week after my Blog Giveaway is over. I cannot wait to see what everyone is posting. I thought about forum, but thought this would be easier for everyone. The link is at the top right of the blog page.

Email Updates: If you don't wish to follow by Google or think it is easier to receive blog updates in your inbox (I do this with my favorite blogs) then you can just put your email address in the box to your right and you will receive my updates. Your inbox will not go crazy with my emails. You may seee 1 or 2 in a row then a couple of days may go by without one. I would estimate about four emails per week. I love getting email updates at my fingertips. This way, I can read if it is something I am interested in or delete if I am not interested. I hope you will all sign up and follow my facebook page. I have been working all day trying to get these things done, so we all share our beauty faves.

Sales: For the next week all Sigma Premium Kits are $10 off for the next five days approximately.and the Rapidlash is $49.95 with the free exfloliating polishing product that I use three times a week. It is really necessary now that sunless tanning is coming up and my skin would be so dreadul and dead without a great exfoliator. This way it is free and I get long lashes. The lashes in the latest video I did is really apparent when it compared to the lashes I had a year ago. I am so glad this was brought to my attention and is affordable. I have had to buy it in CVS twice as I was desperate...once for myself and once for a last minute gift, but I want to run up to everyone in the store and tell them about the free shipping...lol and free product. I think they would believe I were crazy. I did it once, but she was such a nice lady and even emailed to thank me later. I gave her my business card and she was such a dear person...very appreciative. Also, I just looked at the CVS, Rite-Aid and Walgreens papers and they are all holding some good sales. Rite-Aid in my area has the Wet N Wild Buy One Get One 50% off through 5/14/11.

Yay a Giveaway! Also, some nail fun with China Glaze and Nailene!

Keep reading...giveaway is ahead. Just a little fun with some China Glaze (love the brush and this color) and some Nailene Bedazzled Fun! I really enjoy this as long as I have a great top coat. With China Glaze First and Last (basically a base and top coat in one) the nail fun will stay on for a few days.

I used to have a problem getting the nail art to stay, but with a great top coat like China Glaze First and Last (pic above) I found the answers to my problem. I also use the Seche Vite as a quick one coat to dry it quickly. It is called China Glaze First and Last, but it is all in one bottle. I enjoy that concept and have noticed that my polish is staying on longer too! This appears to be a keeper in the regimen

I am really into playing with nail polishes and I am always up for nail fun! I love nail fun, but I don't go so far as the zebra nails or neons only because my nails are long and those prints are cuter with the sport length, in my humble opinion. Although, I appreciate seeing nails of all kinds. This is just what looks best on my hand. Most of the time, I am ready for the bedazzling. Not on the clothing, nails only...lol.

Hi everyone. This is the color that I last used on my hair. Yes, I know completely different that the one I was showing in my latest haul video, but I will tell you why in my next video. I went for something a smidge darker and not a high lift. However, still very light and it seems that it matches the extension clips we will be playing with a bit better.

I visited Sally Beauty and picked up a pink I didn't have. I must admit that as much as I adore the color selection of China Glaze, I really enjoy the brush and drying qualities of Orly. It is a solid, high quality nail polish. I think so many of their colors are beautiful. I just wish the color variety was wider. There are many colors to choose from, but many are so close there is no reason to purchase the color next to it. The good part is that I go through polish like crazy, so trying the next color will be worth the money in the end. I always wait for the sales that Sally's Beauty has each month...this past sale was Buy 3, get one free. I love a sale:)

A great polish on sale...Wet N Wild at 69 cents...AMAZING!!

Wet N Wild Polish in WildCard/Invitation

Short and Sweet. I found a couple of great polishes on sale at Walgreens and a couple of lipsticks that I will be doing swatches for on my blog here. The first one I am showing is called Wildcard/Invitation (yes, it has the backslash with the two names and if helpful, #465). Again, this is a sheer polish, but not as sheer as the polish listed below.

I could not believe at the quality of the polish at the regular price of $2.99, but I found several colors on sale for $.69, so I purchased a couple of those and a couple of the $.69 lipsticks. Swatches to come. I am so impressed with Wet N Wild...it is affordable at the regular price, but I am always finding them on sale also. This color is so very pretty and the brush is very nice, no wild pieces (that you can sometimes find with less expensive polishes). Nope, not with this brand. I am very impressed!!!

I will continue to purchase and continue to show my swatches on my blog and channel. However, I just wish my area had a better choice of the palettes. I notice that we don't get each and every palette and if we do, the manager will note that only a few came in, so they will be gone if you don't get there when the few arrive. I would love to get more in our area or find a way to purchase more so I can show you ALL Wet N Wild products!

China Glaze and Wet N Wild Polish Haul/Swatches

Wet N Wild "Gray's Anatomy" Wet N Wild "Gray's Anatomy" is part of the new Wet N Wild Fast Dry Nail Polish Line. It is one of those duochrome colors that I desperately tried to catch on camera, but can be better seen in person. You will have a touch of 1st and foremost, lilac. Then, silver with just a hint of green. It so much like MAC Club Eyeshadow in a very sheer version. What you see here is three coats that I felt were necessary otherwise it was a sheer duochrome coat. It depends upon your preference as to how many coats you will need. I needed three for a solid color with a tiny bit of "see through" ability when it hits the light. However, it is a really cool color. I was impressed by the brush as it is not flimsy and is a good size for my nails. Sometimes, a less expensive polish has a tiny little brush that leaves streaks, but I don't see that at all with this polish. My one con is that it is not fast dry if you want a solid color. However, I use Seche Vite Top Coat normally which will make it fast dry anyway. I will be purchasing some of the other colors later and will let you know if this is the only sheer one. No matter what, at $2.99 it is a great polish and I am really enjoying looking down at my nails. It has been about 36 hours after a lot of typing so there is some wear. However, I get the same wear from China Glaze, Orly and the other polishes I have used. All I need to do is put a quick half coat to make it complete again with my top coat and it will be complete again within 15 minutes.

China Glaze in "Avalanche" (After reading the below notes, please be aware I will be updating after returning my bottle for another as I think I may have gotten a return or defective polish. I am only doing this as it just isn't consistent with the quality I am used to with China Glaze) This color is within the same family as Wet N Wild Gray's Anatomy. However, there are some differences. Fist, I want to mention that I got the same wear on the tips within 36 hours as I do type often so I did a quick touch up as I mentioned above. This one is not duochrome and if you are looking for solid, not sheer then Avalanche is definitely not sheer. I don't know why this polish seems different than other China Glaze Polishes. It is much thinner and more runny than ANY of the many China Glaze polishes I own. Honestly, it makes me wonder if I got a polish that was returned or if this color is naturally thinner. For some reason, it runs to the outside rather than staying in the center of the nail when I apply and allowing me to spread it out with the brush. I also think their brushes are a nice size and quality, but before I had the opportunity to spread out this color it had already run and settled around the edges of my nail and had run to the outside of the nail bed. This is very very unusual for China Glaze Polish. This color is not consistent with the China Glaze polishes I own and I must own at least 25 others. I am going to return this polish this week and ask for an exchange. There will be an update within a week. However, I hope the pictures will help. Please excuse the pics. I tried to clean up the "run off" as much as possible.

I am absolutely in love with these candles... My Viva La Juicy and Iced Bundt Cake. I had asked for Viva La Juicy perfume for a year, but someone *cough, hubby, cough* forgot and now I have moved onto getting a new scent. However, I thought getting the candle would be great. I really enjoy the scent. It reminds me of a light sweet watermelon scent. I am sure there are other scents in it, but that is what I think of. I also love Iced Bundt Cake when company is arriving so they think I know how to cook...lol. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Please read about her candles as she puts more "scent" in her candles than your average candle, which is why I just refuse to buy candles from Yankee or the other stores any longer. My home will smell like these candles three hours after I put the candle out. I love Candles by Victoria. I bought these candles and nobody is paying me or asking me to say this...I just let them and it doesn't hurt that she is so so nice. Take a peek at the 500+ scents and the many different types of candles she offers, including tarts for tart warmers. Those are great gifts too!

Wild for Wet N Wild look of the day ! The only time I love "The Silent Treatment."

I got some compliments on this look so I thought I would post a quick blog posting showing the trio I used...these are so very creamy and blendable. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as the Primer and the colors as instructed on the palette. The eyeliner I used is called Blackberry from Revlon Colorstay (I think it has been discontinued, but found several on Ebay new in package). Anyway, I just really love this look and have had a few compliements on how it is subtle, but very pretty with a sheen.

I am so honest when saying that my self esteem has changed. Hair color update:

In my last video about the Wet N Wild Trios, my hair was darker and was Nice N Easy 102, Natural Light Ash Blonde.

However, I had to come back to my favorite after seeing Gwen Stefani with my "usual" color on television. I just wasn't happy and felt blah with that color for myself. I like so very many of the lighter blondes and try a different one each time I color usually, but I always gravitate back to the Gwen Stefani Lorea Commercial color (new commericlal that made me decide to return), which is Loreal Supreme Excellence LB01, Extra Light Ash Blonde. I always go for ash or cool tones to avoid red tones. I cannot use any golden blonde colors. I hope this helps for everyone that has asked.

Hi everyone. I am going to keep this short and simple. I hope you enjoy all of the swatches. I am really enjoying these trios...truly enjoying them!

1. Silent Treatment (2011 trio...love...wearing it all of the time with a look of the day tomorrow showing the shadows. I am also wearing it in my latest video.
2. I Got Good Jeans (new trio from 2011) and really reminds me of the limited edition mineralized trio from MAC...do you remember Inter-view with the navy, gold and bronze?
3. Cool as a Cucumber...it has been around for a bit, but I hadn't tried it. Total humid and Fig 1 dupe in my humble opinion.
4. Walking on Eggshells...Love this one for another option when doing the natural eye and red lip. Nice Naked Lunch and Dazzlelight on steroids dupe. The middle one is a bit like romp with less bronze. Love the whole trio with a matte brown like Soft Brown from MAC to blend out the brown.

I am truly pleased with all of the Wet N Wild eyeshadows I have purchased and am somewhat addicted as I have to get back and purchase the ones I don't have. I have shown the other three I own in other videos. Vanity is really nice with six mattes and six frosts for those that enjoy neutrals and my honest to goodness love is Knock on Wood...like MAC Cranberry with it's Haux and Downtown Brown with more pearl. Just my opinion on the dupes, but I hope you enjoy them all!

New Bow Ring...Thanks Mom!

Hi everyone. I am writing a short entry just to show this cute 'lil bow ring I have been wearing for a few days. It was so cute as I was browsing through the hospital gift shop, my Mom came in with a piercing headache but didn't want didn't want to purchase just a pack of Tylenol using her debit card. I was admiring this really cheap bow ring and she told me to put it on the counter. I love this ring and wish I could find a version that I know will "hold up" because I am having fun wearing it and getting compliments. It feels silly when asked where I got it to say "The hospital gift shop." If anyone knows where I can find one close, please let me know.

Face of the Day...I have missed you!

This is a very simple look that reminds me of a Marilyn Monroe look I saw once. I have found myself doing using the colors listed from Coastal Scents on the eyes. It is basically something that looks great with red lips or nude lips. It is fast, but looks nice. I got so many compliments on the eyeshadow, so I hope you enjoy! I HATE how these pictures turned out...my son was taking them and I felt so silly. Next time it is back to the tripod...lol I wish you could see how pretty these colors look on the lid.

3. Coastal Scents ME04 and ME17 metallic eyeshadows from the Fall Festival Palette.
4. I used the M04 just to blend it out over the crease.

6. To top it off, MAC Cockney Red Lipstick (Lustre)...LOVE IT!!! The website says it is a yellow based red, but I swear it looks more blue to me because it whitens my teeth and I always hate yellow and orange based reds. I don't think MAC is spot on with that description unless I need new glasses:)

My October Favorites

Hi everyone. I am so sorry I just left for a bit with no warning. As mentioned in my latest video, my husband became ill and I took a couple of weeks off to be with him and we are taking care of business. Since he had a stroke in 2009, we definitely need to pay attention to what he body is telling him. I want to let everyone know that has written to me that I will definitely be writing back to you this week. Can you believe I have 359 emails? Yikes!

So, tonight I mentioned my October Favorites, but there are so many more items that I need to mention that I am truly enjoying. It is so hard to choose what I want to use each morning as I am really finding some quality products both high end, mid and drugstore.

If you are like me and have never really liked the bent eyeliner brushes...there is a new bent eyeliner brush in town from Coastal Scents. Check out my October Favorites video to see the drastic difference in this great new bent eyeliner brush. It is bent further toward the eye and the synthetic fibers are very dense for a super perfect application. There are several items I mentioned, but they are all listed on the video.

Manic Panic Lipstick Swatches...

As promised I am posting pics of the Manic Panic Lipsticks. I really adore the packaging and have found that the red lipstick and powder I mentioned are my favorite items as I wouldn't have a problem using them both at any time. I have been using the powder for a week now and love how it sets my makeup. I have had a ball playing with this collection even though I cannot wear it out and I have a totally different style.

However, I always respect the style of others and what others enjoy from super natural to very dark. I am somewhere in the middle with a dramatic smokey eye of any color most days and a nude lip or a nude eye with a nice red or wine lip.

I hope you like the packaging as much as I do and the lipstick is matte, but is not drying like most matte lipsticks I own in my collection. It feels as though I don't need to worry about it getting on my teeth and it is not drying at all. I used Brick MAC Lipliner with the red and it worked much better than trying to line with the black lipstick and cream liner. I really needed to grab a black liner to do that to keep in in place for a long time. The red lasted about three hours before a touch up and it only needed to be touched up in the center due to drinking without a straw.

My Nail Routine and Sedu Hairdryer Winner

Happy Columbus Day Weekend. I hope you are all well. I have always received questions about my nail routine. I have quite a few nail products in addition to my color polishes, but these are the items I have been using off and on for over a year and keep coming back to them. They seem to work really well. Occasionally, I may see a few ridges or some discoloration due to dark polishes and will sometimes use a whitener or a ridge filler.

However, I find that by having a nice smooth surface, the nail polish will stay longer rather than having layers and layers of base polishes. So, using a tool to remove ridges gently (love those four way blocks) then using something for shine as pictured below. The four way block is fine for shine, but I find that the hand held one below gives me a little shine and smoothing.

I will only use a ridge smoother, a hardener like Rock Hard from Sally's Beauty Supply, a base like Seche Vite or a base that actually grabs the polish like Orly Bonder Base Coat. My favorite top coats are Seche Vite as it dries almost instantly and Essie "To Dry For." If my nails start to become a bit discolored from some of the darker polishes, I will use California Whitening from Sally's as my base for the next couple of polish changes.

I must admit I am addicted to changing my polish and trying crazy new things with my nails. I think this is because I have to wear white button up shirts and black dress pants to work. Yes, I can purchase my own style in those types of clothing, but I desperately need to do something with my hair, makeup and nails each day to brighten my day. This is why I enjoy buying new polishes so often, so I hope my swatches will help you decide if you like a particular color.

Nails Polishes from the past week

Hi guys. I absolutely love changing my nail polish and getting a new look. I need to get out to get some more fall colors since it is really cold here today. We went from 97 degrees last week to it being 67 degrees today, chilly and rainy. However, I look forward to fall. I have to say that I buy all different types of polish, but Orly always gives me the most flawless application as I love that brush and it never clumps. I love all different kinds of polish though...even the 1.99 polishes from Walgreens, called Sinful Confessions. As far as long lasting, I definitely love Orly, China Glaze and Essie. It seems as though the finishes can be long lasting in other brands also...it varies depending upon the finish sometimes and the top coat can also sway the long lasting wear. I like Seche Vite as it dries my nails right away and avoids chipping. I wish Gorgeous from Orly would show up properly in the picture as it is definitely the dupe for MAC eyeshadow in Stars N Rockets. As soon as I started putting it on, I thought Stars N Rockets and even did my eyes in that color to match that day. In the pictures it looks pink, but not at all. It is very purple with a tinge of pink. Very unique color that I wish would show up in the pic. I hope you all have a great week!

Eyes using the Coastal Scents Winterberry and Warm Palettes

Eyes of the Day using the Winterberry and Warm Palettes from Coastal Scents:

1. After applying Coastal Scents Primer and Michael Todd Cream Eyeshadow Base in Nude...

2. I applied the light pink(ME15 to the tear duct and inner portion of the eye and S13 to the remainder of the eyelid blending it into the ME15 with a blending brush adding a bit more of the light pink to blend into the darker color.

3. Second pic: I started adding the Charcoal (ME18) toward the outer lid and blending into the purple color using a dense brush to blend along the lines and using a barely there satin brown to blend them more easily without losing the purple and charcoal.

4. Third pic: I added a bit of a satin vanilla to the browbone and a satin charcoal color from the warm palette to the very outer V to bring it all together. I then added Coastal Scents True Black Gel Liner along the top lid with just extending a tiny bit.

5. The fourth pic shows that I added Revlon Color Stay Eyeliner in Blackberry and then for a little fun with S16 on top of the Blackberry Liner.

7. A little Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara on the top and bottom lashes and we are done!

This is not as "Vegas" in person as it looks in pictures. I really enjoy wearing it and I really like to wear it with Urban Decay Baked and Twice Baked...they seem to go well together. I don't usually do that, but there is something about this polish that screams Twice Baked and Baked mixture.

This is the coolest color I have EVER put on my nails...I ask others how they would describe the color and they all look at it and say...silver, well lilac with a hint of bluish pearl. A great color that I hope I will always be able to find.

Hi everyone. I thought I would share my LOFD with everyone. I had already worn this all day so I hope it shows how well the primer and base work so well together. It was very hot here today and I didn't crease at all. I had already put on my old sweatshirt and yoga pants (hubby keeps the air conditioning set on "Antartica" but I do enjoy snuggling in a blanket to get warm while watching T.V. or working on my project. There was something refreshing and crisp about the pink. Each time I use Pink Freeze (MAC) I get compliments and feel as though I look refreshed.

On the face:

ELF Translucent Powder (the one from the Studio line...love it as much as the MAC or others)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation vs. Stay Matte

Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I will be doing a more detailed video for you all on my channel at http://www.youtube.com/macface2adore. However, until I do the video next week I thought I would go ahead and do a quick overview as I have had many questions regarding the differences. Rimmel Stay Matte was one of my favorites last year and replaced my high end foundations for at least four months. So here are my new thoughts...

Rimmel Last Finish Foundation: Promises 25 hour, flawless, lightweight coverage and I cannot agree more. I have had no breakouts over the past ten days while using this. I purchased it in the color 100 Ivory so I could darken it when I am wearing self tanner with the MAC Bronzing Drops when needed. I don't know if it lasts 25 hours, but sitting here at 1:26 a.m. I know that it has lasted 19 hours. My face is flawless and I cannot feel the foundation on my face. You need very little on your palette. I used a clean CD for my palette the used the MAC 190 or other regular foundation brush to apply. To buff it in and blend I use a flat, tight brush like the Powder Brush by elf. My video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYUpiKDYIlg

shows all of my favorite brushes for really getting a seamless look. It is thicker than the Rimmel Stay Matte and dries a little bit faster and IT IS TRUE...IT DOES NOT TRANSFER...woohoo. I have to wear white shirts to work at least three days out of the week. It is great. I got the foundations at buy one get one 50% off. I love this one, but still enjoy the Stay Matte. The lasting finish reminds me of the coverage that the Clinique Stay True Oil Free Full Coverage Matte Foundation gives while giving a little extra coverage and blends easier. I adore both, but again, this one is not as "liquid" and offers a nicer thicker coverage, but not too thick. Clinique Stay True is on my top five list of foundations and would be probably number 1 on my department store choices right now.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation: This foundation is much thinner than the lasting finish and it offers a bit less coverage, but it is a satin finish. Not a dry, too matte of a finish. Both of the foundations have very nice finishes. I have not had any problems with this foundation melting off of my face either and they are easy to match. Again, I usually get a light color and use a bronzing product to darken if needed while using a sunless tanning product. I will definitely be using both foundation and no longer feel the need to buy $50 foundation as I have bought all of those and know that I enjoy these just as much and honestly much more than most of those high end choices. I think I have bought or sampled 85% of the high end choices out there and can say that these really impress me.

To finish, Stay Matte, I still love you and you will be used, but I am really into the coverage, non transfer, "no feel" medium to full coverage foundation that just makes you look perfect. I adore Rimmel foundations and most of the time at least two drugstores in town have a BOGO deal of some type. I hope you enjoy. Watch out for my video where I will show the differences in coverage on each side of my face. I am so thankful to Rimmel for offering these affordable options. I love to splure on wonderful eyeshadows that I can't always find in the drugstore at times, so being able to save on foundation is always great. I always skip the foundation page when shopping on Sephora.com now. I don't even need to look at them unless I want to refill on that Clinique option. Again, after trying so many of them, I have learned that fancy names and high prices aren't always the best option.

Hi everyone. I want to thank everyone for entering. It took me a little bit longer to announce as there were a few comments that were duplicated and I had requested one comment per viewer. Many times I let you guys enter and enter when there are days to pick the winner. This giveaway was meant for the first group that watched the video and I realize that not everyone was home, available to watch at that time, etc. These are just all new ideas and I will keep doing the ones that last for a few days also.

Polishes I used this week and a few words...

Good afternoon everyone. I will make this a short blog entry, but I have so much more this week as well as videos. Requests that I am looking so forward to producing. So, my polishes are listed in the pictures. I totally forgot to take pictures of the gold polish I used, so I will use it again and post next week.

I have had SO SO many questions about the Coastal Scents Skin Care Line and I will have a detailed review on my blog this week. There are several pieces and I will share how I used them for my benefit. Let's say that since running out of my two favorite pieces I feel lost.

Happy Nails...I am getting ready to paint them again for tomorrow. I love to have different nail polishes on during the week. I think because I wear black pants and a white blouse at work, I really try to mix up the makeup and nail polishes to keep some sense of who I am each day. I am having a horrible week of breakouts since going from my Palladio Powder Foundation to using a liquid foundation for three days. Oh, why did I ever think I could wear the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation? My skin is awful now. Definitely back to Palladio this week.

I really think I am going to try a few mineral foundations soon. My skin just feels so much lighter and less oily with the Palladio Powder Foundation. So, I am thinking the minerals (no way, Bare Escentuals...breakout city with the bismuth) will be great to try. Anyway, I had some interest in what nail colors I enjoy and thought I would post for you. Enjoy...I am really enjoying new nail polishes that I see on other blogs. As you can see, I was a little tired of the hot pinks and corals I had been wearing over the past several weeks:)

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover Polish

all lacquered up.com) I wanted to show this picture because the difference in lighting and camera is so different. However, neither are what this bottle of polish is like that I am holding. Although, the true color is between these two shades. I feel the one from all lacquered up is much too grassy and mine is far too light bluish green. This is a hard colors to describe...lol, but so unique as you can tell from the difficulty in explaining.

This particular color,Four Leaf Clover, is from the China Glaze Up, Up and Away Collection. I get so frustrated with my Sally Beauty Supply, because they don't keep collections in stock. They have a beautiful wall of the permanent colors, but I would love to see the collections as they come in. I have such an array of China Glaze colors, but really want to grab the collections without having to purchase online. This one is opaque, eye grabbing and it is a really pretty green (a hint of blue). On makeupalley is has a 100% "Would you buy again?" rate.

I am not genrally a big green polish nail fan. However, I love China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (pictured), Orly Mint Mojito and Orly Enchanted Forest (great for fall). I am sure China Glaze has other beautiful greens and blues that I haven't had the opportunity to view as I haven't seen the collections featured in my local store where I purchase them. I just don't like the grass green colors like Paper Chasing (my niece and I have fun with that one as she is four and loves all colors)...I like mints, blue/greens and those that are wearable and I feel as though a green needs to be opaque and not a shimmer or glitter polish in my opinion. The green brings enough attention without the use of the shimmer and takes away from the beauty of the color and I usually love shimmer colors in red, raspberry, pink, bronze, charcoal, etc. I prefer opaque colors especially in light grey, green, blue and taupe colors. I like purples in both shimmer and opaque.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this color if you check it out as I think it is probably in my top three greens. Four Leaf Clover probably is not what I would have named it as it really isn't the color of a clover. It is much prettier as it is a kelly green in my opinion rather than a grass green. For instance, if my friend called me and asked if she should grab this color for me by saying "Do you want Four Leaf Clover?" I would say no, but seeing it in person is a different story. So, here is the "flavor" of the weekend. Next week I will post my most worn polishes.

I hope you enjoyed this little nail post as I plan to do at least one nail post per week now and feature more of the colors in my videos as I generally get asked what color I am wearing. I want to start using my nail art to just add a few cute accents as I hate to go overboard with the nail art (just my preference). If anyone has Konad tips as I have tried everything possible and watched every Konad video imaginable, please send the advice. I am desperate...lol. *This product was gifted by China Glaze. I have purchased so many China Glaze and this shows me that the collection polishes really do differ from those in the permanent collection. So many companies will offer collections, but I can find exact dupes in their permanent line. There may be some like that with China Glaze, I don't know, but from what I am reading on other blogs they are great at creating new colors.

Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation

Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well and preparing for a relaxing weekend. I wasn't feeling well at all this morning and was unable to go into work, so while I am relaxing here at home I will go ahead and do a review on this foundation. I hope it is helpful.

Covergirl Description, Product Info, Pricing, etc.
They describe the product on their website by stating, "This breakthrough formula with Olay Regenerist Serum and SPF 22 stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles, unlike the leading anti-aging department store foundation that can gather in wrinkles and make skin look older. Clinically shown to provide significant improvement in skin condition in just four weeks." Their website shows that 477 customers have reviewed the product and the average is 4 out of 5 stars. It also won a really impressive award, the Beauty Insider Choice Winner Award (CEW).

They have a wide range of colors. I thought that my color looked a little dark for me and that I would need to wait until I was really dark with my self tanner to use the product. Somehow, it seems to be like a chameleon and adapt to my skin if I am a little tan or if I have just made an application. It can be versatile. However, I think a lot of that has to do with the brush I am using also, which I will get to in a moment.

I find that most stores are offering this anywhere from 11.99 to yes, even 14.99. I just won't buy a drugstore cosmetic without it being on sale. I can usually look through the sale papers and if CVS isn't having some sort of buy one, get one deal then Rite Aid will be or maybe Walgreens. I go online each week and look at their online sale ads to see where I plan to go that week to pick up any needed drugstore products. Ijust noticed that CVS has a link for printable coupons, but I haven't checked it out to see if those coupons include beauty products. I love CVS because I always have a save $5 or $10 with purchases over $25 for using my discount card. I must have changed my email address since getting my discount card a very long time ago and they gave me a $4 off coupon for just writing my new email address down (I gave them one I never check...lol)I just applied for the new Rite Aid discount card online. I cannot believe how much I save sometimes with those cards.

My Thoughts...
I will wear this regularly, but not on days when the weather plans to be very hot and humid. I didn't understand what they meant when they state that it "suspends" over fine lines and wrinkles. Well, it really does. It doesn't settle into your skin like other foundations do, but yet I love how it makes my skin look. This is perfect for cooler days and would be great if I had dry skin. I love the coverage it offers. Medium and buildable it seems. If you forget to moisturize, which I don't recommend, but just in case, it will still go on your skin really smoothly. I did it for a tutorial a couple of times and because of the Olay Regenerist Serum swirled in their it is moisturizing and blends well. I love how the color just seems to work no matter what level I am on with my sunless tanner (within reason).

I find that the sponge isn't such a great idea so it stays unused in the lower chamber. The top screws off to use. I kind of wish it would pop up, just because when I am busy in the morning I may have laid it somewhere silly and I have to stop to find it. No big problem, I just need to learn to pay attention to where I place it. The foundation really does "suspend" over the lines and looks so soft and smooth on my skin. I apply with the flat top "powder" brush from ELF Studio (I don't know why this is called a powder brush...everyone I have ever talked with uses it for cream and liquid products..I LOVE THAT BRUSH). I apply a translucent powder afterward with a small kabuki and just sort of buff it in. However, if you are having a hot day or have on a white shirt it will slip off after about five hours and will transfer onto your clothing if you are wearing a collared shirt or slip your clothing on over your head.

So, as you can see there are pros and cons, but I will definitely buy this again in a lighter shade for winter. My skin dries out more in the winter and I know this will be great. I may do a review on my channel also, but I have been told that some only have time for blogs or videos. I completely understand that...believe me. I need 40 hours in just one day to get everything done. Have I left anything out? If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

My rating: I would have to agree with the other customers that reviewed the product on the Covergirl website. It does have its flaw here and there, but for the most part, I really enjoy this foundation. So, 4 out 5 stars from me. If you try, I hope you enjoy it too! Where have I been...

Hi everyone. I just want to make this a short post to let you know where I have been. Unfortunately, I have had a series of events in my life over the past month that have taken me away from my channel and blog. First, my Mom had a surgery which then resulted in a blood clot in her lung. Then, just a few days ago Gary spent the day with his grandfather (PaPa) to find out just a few hours later that he passed away after Gary left his home. Rest in peace PaPa. You will be missed! Over the passed 16 months my family has endured the two strokes of my husband, my fathers heart surgery, my grandfather's bypass surgery just after the death of my grandmother, my Mom's surgery and blood clot in the lung and now the death of Gary's grandfather. We are all strong and will just keep going thanks to the strength I pray for each day. Sometimes days seem unbearable and I honestly deal with some depression. I haven't been diagnosed, but I feel it.

However, I just keep in mind that things will get better and I thank you all so much for watching my videos and just writing such nice comments. Now, regarding videos, I have videos and blog posts that involve many new items I have received including cosmetics, primers, brush cleaners, nail polishes, a hair dryer, hair straigtener, skin care, so many products from Coastal Scents that I want to get out there and as requested another video regarding rapidlash as I have had such an outpour of viewers that love the rapidlash. Thought I would just go ahead and post my face of the day for yesterday. I was wearing it in the palladio foundation review and discount video. Anway, just a short posting with a couple of pics. I have requests to do face of the day and I promise to incorporate more of those into my routine now that life is back to normal.

Please keep in mind this is after at least 12 hours of wear so everything isn't perfect, but I think it held up pretty well considering the heat:)

Face: Pixi Foundation Primer, Palladio Wet/Dry Rice Foundation (used dry with kabuki), MUD bronzer, MAC Luna Cream Base as Blush Base, Palladio Pink Baked Blush

Eyes: Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer, MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork, Coastal Scents Metal Mania palette, medium taupe silver all over lid with light silver in the center of the lid blended within the first color, MAC Cranberry in crease and MAC Soot in outer V. Loreal Carbon Black Liquid Eyeliner (trying to like, but not quite there yet...as you can see it cracked through the day), no liner on lower lid other than Gosh Bananas in the waterline and Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara.

Lips: Coastal Scents Pink Lip Palette with the two lightest shades mixed together (these feel like NARS lipsticks...no goop)...will do review.

Hi everyone. I have missed you all so much on YouTube and posting here on my blog. My Mom had a rather serious surgery and it went very well. However, on Memorial Day we all noticed she was coughing and to make a long story short she was taken to the emergency room that night and she was diagnosed with a blood clot in her lung. After five nights in the hospital, she is home and getting better each day. I would go to work for a few hours in the morning and then drive to the hospital in the evening. So, by the time I would get home, I would just be exhausted. I may have checked my comments a couple of times, but I would just fall asleep sitting up trying to get through The Young and the Restless that we recorded. If I fall asleep during that, I AM TIRED...lol.

Well, guys I have so much so share with you over the next several days, week and month. I am so behind, but so many good things are on the way. EVEN A CONTEST that will NOT be announced on my YouTube channel, so stay tuned. I want to do something special for those that like to follow my blog. I know it isn't perfect and professional looking like some of the others out there, but I have been trying so hard behind the scenes to make it look nice. I am not so great with HTML so when I can get things together, I hope to ask someone to help me with it. For the moment, I hope it will serve the purpose.

I have SOOO many Coastal Scents swatches I want to share with you, hair tutorials, step by step tutorials using pics on my blog and so much is to come on YouTube with all of these things as well. I have a list that covers an entire legal sheet of topics I need to cover on my channel and blog. Sometimes I may repeat myself as I know some only read the blog and some only watch my videos...but I will throw in extras on my blog for those of you that will be doing both.

To start, I will start with a Face of the Day and a little something that have saved me from messy powders...

Primer: Palladio from Sally Beauty (I am using several right now and will do a vid to compare)

Foundation: Coastal Scents High Definition Foundation

Concealer: Senna Cosmetics (lightest shade offered)

Powder: ELF Complexion Perfection...I like to apply this with the small black kabuki from Coastal Scents because it is small enough to go under my eyes to set your concealer although the Senna really isn't going to move, I still adore this brush and the ELF Powder...$3.00 and no shine! I really think I paid $1.50 as I wait for the 50% off codes in their emails. I find myself picking this up so often and really think I will hit pan on this one day. Moving on...

Bronzer: Physicians Formula Organic/Medium to contour. I change them daily depending upon the level of my self tanner I have on that day.

Cheeks: MAC Cream Colour Base in Pink to keep blush in place all day, Blush: MAC Mineralized Intenso which is super dark so I applied with a fan brush. I just love to look at it:)

Highlight: Senna Illuminating Drops... and they do illuminate beautifully

Eyeshadow Primer: Palladio Eyeshadow Primer and MAC Groundworks Paint Pot from the crease to the lashes

Eyeshadow: I foiled Coastal Scents Mysterious Bronze Mica Powder (very pretty glittery and the foiling helps with any fallout). Then I patted a thin layer of Coastal Scents Auburn Eyeshadow (close to MAC cranberry in a loose version) over the bronze glitter. You can still see some of the glitter, but to tone it down for day time the Auburn was gorgeous in person. Since I had so much going on below the brow brone, I used a satin finish highlight, MAC Mylar. Inside corner, MAC Pink Freeze.

Eyeliner: Top Lash Line, Coastal Scents Gel Liner in Royal Purple and on the lower lash line I honestly don't remember, but I used the auburn shadow to smudge it out. I always tend to do this with my lower liners.

Mascara: Rimmel Sexy Curves, non waterproof

Lips: Hard Candy All American Girl Lipgloss and MAC Soar Lipliner...just a little bit of l/l

One More Thing...

I received these from Coastal Scents and was so happy to try these. I first saw them when Bare Escentuals released their matte mineral foundation with the lids that twist so you can close them or only open it half way...NO MORE MESS and Coastal Scents offers them on their website...www.coastalscents.com in a couple different sizes at an affordable rate. I love to visit their site and actually have some African Cleanser in my shopping basket as I type and trying to figure out what else I would like to order. I keep adding to the basket and remember, Budget, Jennifer, Budget...lol:) I just keep hearing such great things about this cleanser.

I ordered some of the ELF HD Powder, but honestly, the container is a horrible mess because the powder is just uncontrollable. These containers from Coastal Scents will make it possible for any of our powders, whether they be for mineral foundation, setting powder, eyeshadows, blushes, highlighting powders and great to mix your mineral foundation colors. I hope you enjoy them like I am because that messy ELF powder is now transferred.

At one time, I was asking around to see if anyone had used all of their Bare Escentuals Matte Foundation to see if they were planning on keeping the container. Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Below you will find swatches of just one of the several lip quads released by Coastal Scents. I always expect for a lip palette to be filled with goopy, sticky product. Not with these. Coastal Scents really put out great products at an affordable rate. I will stand by that until I am proven otherwise. Below, you will find the first in my series of swatches.

These lip colors are smooth and packed full of color. The first color has pearl, the second and third are matte while the fourth color has a light pearl. Love 'em!!! They truly remind me of my NARS lipsticks. There is no scent and go on in one swipe packed full of color. I NEVER carry a lip palette. However, that is until now. I used the Berry and Pink Quads at a pageant last weekend. They lasted so long and even one of the girls mentioned how smooth they were. No goopy, overly shiny look. This are full over color with a sheen.

I hope you all have a beautiful Thursday and I will be uploading swatches of the other quads over the next two days. I would have done all of them, but sometimes when you wipe your lips too much, the actual color won't be shown as your lips get a little too pink. Hi everyone. After a year of having the request, I finally did the video. I hope you enjoy it. I have featured just a few of the pics that gave me some inspiration below. I couldn't put the Playboy cover pics I found as I didn't think they were really appropriate for all ages. I was only looking at the eyes, but some were a bit too much really if you know what I mean. Face of the Day Video, Thursday June 20, 2010

Hi everyone. I hope you had a beautiful Thursday. My mom came through her surgery beautifully yesterday. I don't think I have mentioned the surgery on YouTube, but she had pre-cancerous cells and a benign tumor that had to be removed. So, there was a full hysterectomy. She was very sleepy this evening so we just kind of dozed off together in her living room.

It was so quiet with the guys off grocery shopping and running some needed errands for Mom. Austin now has his learners permit to drive with a licensed adult, so he is constantly wanting to drive and Gary is very brave in allowing him to go into busy towns...lol. I am comfortable on the highway right now, but not with lots of traffic just yet. He is doing well though, I will give him that credit. He drove me all the way to the hospital yesterday and all of the way back where we ran into a pretty serious rain storm. It was a good learning experience for him as we did hit some standing water at times, so I was telling him to just let off of the gas. Of course, after a week of driving, he definitely knows this already and didn't need to be told...lol. Oh, they crack me up. I did it to my Mom too I suppose.

Now, onto the daily beauty journal... I don't believe I mentioned in the video that I was using a new primer today from Cliche cosmetics that was sent to me. I made the mistake of using my brush a bit too forcefully and got a little too much. I was able to put it back, but a little goes a long way, which is great. It is very much like a paint pot and reminded me of painterly, but in a vanilla color. It is 2:07 a.m. and my eye makeup looks as fresh as when I put it on. I must admit, I didn't expect it to work this well, only because I hadn't heard anyone speak of it on YouTube. The picture listed is at 3:00 a.m. So, after the Virginia heat today, I am quite impressed. A review will come later.

Me at 3:00 a.m....I look awful, but I just want to show you that this primer did well to hold up in the Virginia heat from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. I am going to go wash off my makeup now and try to catch a few zzzz's before the alarm goes off so I can get Austin up for school. I love you guys and working on my channel and blog so much, sleep is my second priority. I truly enjoy this and hope you will enjoy the new concept of the blog. It is what I had hoped for when I first started it.

I received a package from Hard Candy today that I am looking forward to sharing with you. My local Wal-mart doesn't even have the line yet. Well, I take that back. They have a few items, but not what I would consider the entire line, so I am thinking of just placing an order on the Wal-mart website or traveling to another Wal-Mart to get what I need. I also need to find those Milani Liquif'eye pencils in the colors other than brown. What is wrong with the stores in my area? I am thinking of writing to Milani and Hard Candy to let them know that these lines need to be put into these stores. I think they would have a great following both in the local Wal-Mart and Milani in CVS. They have Milani, but not what I am looking for...anyway, onto the video. Hi guys. I will be doing faces of the day only on my blog, where I will tell you where I am going, what kind of look I am going for and what I happen to be wearing for the day. I hope to do these at least four days a week, with other types of postings a couple of other times during the week.

On some days, I will do a face of the day and mention other things such as a favorite item, a review that I will not be listing on YouTube, more details concerning a video I have already done, swatches, really anything that would pertain to a daily makeup journal. Oh, I also hope to do some picture tutorials on my blog as I love these on other blogs. I think they are great when there is no time to create a video.

This is what I had intended this blog to be about about when I chose the domain name of www.makeupandbeautydiary.com and I hope everyone will enjoy my beauty journal. I absolutely adore doing videos, but I understand there is a huge calling for those that only have time for blogs these days. I definitely want to do both and hope you will bare with me as I have a full time job and family as so many of you all do that are also doing so many multi tasks. How do we do it? I get very little sleep...lol.

I will definitely take requests for YouTube looks, but preferably at my email address, which is listed on my blog and on my YouTube page. I hate YouTube messaging so so much. I cannot read any of my messages. If I can, it will allow me to see them for a second and then it takes them away and the space appears blank. So, I am trying to write to each individual person to ask what there message was about. I feel so intrusive by doing so and it takes forever. Thanks for your patience during this time. YouTube had fixed the issue and now it has started again.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy. In the video, I mention what I am wearing. If I happen to forget something, I will try to notice and list it in the blog posting.

Stila Jewel Palette

Hi guys. I resisted the Stila Jewel Palette when it was first released as I was told that the glitter was too chunky and there was quite a bit of fallout. I received the palette brand new in the box in a swap. I agree with anyone stating that there is fallout involved and the glitter is a bit overwhelming. I have used the palette twice and think I have found the best way to make it work for me. However, the colors are gorgeous and I was determined to make it work.

The first time I used it, I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Indianwood Paintpot as a base. So, the main eyeshadows were the shadows from the Stila Jewel Palette. I experienced an extreme amount of fallout in my lashes, on my cheekbones that eventually even traveled to my clothing throughout the day. I found it for days. However, my second experience was much better. Yes, a way to use these beautiful sparkley colors to those of us like myself that were unsure if we could handle the sparkle! I applied the same two primers then applied satin and matte shadows as my base shadows in complimenting colors. Then I used the Stila shadows by spraying them with Makeup Forever Mist & Mist while still on the brush. You can use whatever mixing medium you prefer, but I will apply the medium in a mist on the brush after the shadow is already on the brush waiting for placement. I patted them on with the Mist and Fix rather than swiping and only used them as an accent to the look already created with the matte shadows. It made the look I had already created, beautiful with a sparkley sheen. Much better the second try:)

I am happy that I didn't pay the cost of the palette as it is really shockingly small. The size of the shadows are about the size of the shadows in the 88 palettes. It really reminds me of a GWP (gift with purchase) eyeshadow palette from a cosmetic counter. I would have definitely returned the product had I paid the full price of $32.

The description in italics is taken directly from the Sephora website:

This Jewel Eye Shadow formula creates a wave of color that glimmers and sparkles across your lids for a brilliant, out-of-this-world, sequin-like reflection. This palette provides buildable, smooth-gliding color and the perfect blend of pigment, transparent talc, and pearl delivers a weightless feel on the eye.

As a whole, I am happy that I have the palette, but I think $18 would have been more than enough to charge for this tiny palette. So, in a nutshell...

Pros:
Packaging is catchy with the beautiful starts on the plastic cover
Palette feels very sturdy and thick (tiny in width and length) so it feels like like quality packaging
Beautiful choice of colors...a light to midtone neutral, a dark greyish eggplant, a light pink and a black (all with tons of glitter...it is called shimmer, but I really think it is more like fine glitter)
Still available at Sephora

Cons:
Cost of $32 is too much for me to spend on 4 eyeshadows that are the same size as my GWP palettes
Fallout is overhwhelming unless you take extra measures to avoid the fallout as mentioned above
A little deceiving as the descriptions are called "shimmer", but to me they feel more like fine glitter

Bottom line...pretty, but super sparkley. $32 for gift with purchase size colors. This is still available on the Sephora website, but I don't see it listed on the Stila website. It definitely feel it is just a matter of preference and the type of shadows you enjoy. However, price vs. quality vs. quantity just don't add up in my humble opinion. I have wanted palettes and spent full price on some palettes that others think are plain and blah. I read many reviews on Sephora where many love it and there is an overall review of 4 out of 5 star average on the Sephora website. I hope this was helpful, although, it was late. Maybe try the Brand New in Box approach or Swatched Only on makeupalley. If it were used a lot, I cannot imagine there would be a lot of shadow remaining, but used shadows can easily be sanitized. Great idea...a sanitizing video or blog post. I hope you have a beautiful week!
